Sci-Fi Gone Wrong
by Betty Jo Tucker

I apologize, dear reader, but my inner poet insisted on being unleashed again for this review.

Worry, worry

and watch the clock,

for In Time wastes

what time you’ve got.

A future based

on how much time

you steal or loan

can end in crime.

The lucky few

with years to go

need not worry

yet some stoop low.

But two will fight  –

even with kin --

to make things right

and save their skin.

How did it start,

this time-based snare?

Who knows for sure?

It’s hard to care.

The actors here

bear equal blame

with a writer

who’s off his game.

Some sci-fi fans

will be upset

watching In Time.

On that I’ll bet.

(Released by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and rated “PG-13” for violence, some sexuality, partial nudity and strong language.)
