ReelTalk Movie Reviews
For Kids
by Diana Saenger

The Pacifier hasn’t received many accolades from adult viewers, but maybe the movie isn’t intended for them. Justin Pleiss, a junior critic, says about Vin Diesel -- “No more secret agents, please!” Still, he liked the film. Here’s Justin’s review:

Vin Diesel stars as Shane Wolf, a Navy S.E.A.L secret agent. He’s about to go on one of his most important missions -- to baby-sit a bunch of kids. Shane must go to the Plummer’s home because the Navy thinks a secret device was hidden there and a terrorist is looking for it, so he must protect the family.

The kids in the film do a great job. Brittany Snow as Zoe Plummer is a typical teen with attitude. It’s easy to believe Max Thieriot as Seth Plummer, and I also liked Morgan York as Lulu. She was funny and reminded me a lot of my little sister.

There are many funny scenes here -- like when Shane gets bit on the ear by a duck or when he drives the kids to school and the ride becomes like a roller coaster experience. Vin Diesel is funny as he changes diapers, takes the kids shopping and tries to feed them.

The Pacifier is really hilarious and one of my favorite films so far this year. It’s a little corny for adults and isn’t getting the best of reviews, but kids 5 -- 12 will probably find it enjoyable.

I like Vin Diesel, but I hope he’s done with secret agent movies and goes back to what he does best, hard-core action.

Justin also reviews for the Saenger Syndicate and Gazette Newspaper Group.

(Released by Buena Vista Pictures and rated “PG-13” for action violence, language and rude humor.)
