Rick Yune: Villain to Hero
by Betty Jo Tucker

Rising star Rick Yune joined Movie Addict HQ on November 20th to dicuss playing a chilling James Bond villain in Die Another Day and a dashing hero in The Man with the Iron Fists.

As Zao in the 007 flick, you can’t miss Yune. He’s got a face pitted with diamonds -- a terrific look for a Bond villain! In The Man with the Iron Fists, he displays his sculpted good looks while portraying a heroic character who uses his astonishing martial arts skills to help destroy a traitor. In this epic story of 19th century China, Yune’s co-stars are Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and RZA.

Yune's other movies include The Fast and the Furious and Snow Falling on Cedars. In his upcoming film Olympus Has Fallen, Yune portrays a central member of the South Korean delegation that goes into the White House where the President of the U.S. (Aaron Eckhart) and key members of his administration are taken hostage. This film is scheduled for release in 2013.

In addition to his acting credits, Yune has earned an MBA from Wharton School of Business and modeled his way to being the first Asian-American featured in advertisements for Versace and Ralph Lauren’s Polo. He was also named one of People magazine’s “Sexiest Men.”

Yune practices various martial arts, even reaching Olympic standard in Taekwondo and becoming a contender for the U.S. team. Deeply passionate about the advancement of social welfare throughout the Third World, he’s an active board member of the Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation (www.CGDC.edu).
