Guy Magar's Hollywood Journey
by Betty Jo Tucker

Guy Magar visits Movie Addict Headquarters on August 28th to discuss Kiss Me Quick Before I Shoot, his entertaining memoir about working as a director/writer/producer in Hollywood. Did he really almost decapitate Drew Barrymore, discover James Cameron, and put bullets into Johnny Depp? Listen in to find out!

Magar boasts numerous film credits including Children of the Corn: Revelation, Lookin’ Italian, Stepfather 3 and Retribution, a cult horror flick celebrating its 25th anniversary with a DVD release this summer. He also founded Action/Cut Filmmaking Sessions, an educational course for wannabe filmmakers, and the Action/Cut Short Film Competition.

Kiss Me Quick Before I Shoot has been selected as a finalist for both the Indie Excellence Book Awards and International Book Awards of 2012. During a recent interview, Magar described his memoir as “a book for people who love movies and are fascinated by the behind-the-scenes of making films and TV shows – the juicy stories and fun gossip people love to hear.” He added that the memoir is also for romantics because it’s includes a beautiful love story about his relationship with his wife Jacqui. Magar says his memoir is “all about love of movies and finding true love in Hollywood.”

Magar’s television credits are also impressive. He has directed episodes for such shows as La Femme Nikita, Hunter, The A-Team, Lady Blue, Nowhere Man, Blue Thunder and Raven.

Guy Magar’s interview airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available. This should be a fascinating interview, especially for listeners with filmmaking ambitions.
