Hollywood Goes to Vegas
by Betty Jo Tucker

Las Vegas takes center stage during a special Movie Addict HQ episode scheduled for November 5th.  Award-winning author Susan Marg and film historian James Colt Harrison will discuss films about Vegas, movie star weddings in Vegas, the relationship between Hollywood and Vegas, plus much more. Susan’s two books are: Las Vegas Weddings: A Brief History, Celebrity Gossip, Everything Elvis and the Complete Chapel Guide and Hollywood or Bust! James has written about the history of movie studios and contributes film commentary to Classic Movie Guide and Review Express.

Many famous movie stars got hitched (and more than once!) in Vegas. Here’s hoping Susan dishes about some unusual weddings of glamorous actors and actresses like Angelina Jolie, Richard Burton, Michael Caine, Judy Garland, Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Janet Leigh, Tony Curtis, Nelson Eddy, Bette Midler, Joan Crawford, Richard Gere, Cary Grant, Clint Eastwood and Elvis Presley. And speaking of Elvis, Susan has agreed to explain why he became a key player in Vegas nuptial events.

Among the films to be discussed as candidates for “Best or Worst Las Vegas Movies” are:

LAST VEGAS

PARADISE

HONEYMOON IN VEGAS

VEGAS VACATION

OCEAN’S ELEVEN

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

FOOLS RUSH IN

BUGSY

CASINO

LEAVING LAS VEGAS

VERY BAD THINGS

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

THE HANGOVER

FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS
