Justin Timberlake: His Films and Music
by Betty Jo Tucker

Movie Addict HQ puts Justin Timberlake in the spotlight on September 24th. During this episode, Mad Movie Man  A.J. Hakari joins producer Nikki Starr and yours truly to rant and rave about Timberlake’s music and movies. Plus, comedian Nancy Lombardo has been invited to share her reation to Timberlake on "Saturday Night Live."

Even before his teenage ‘NSYNC singing and dancing success, ten-year-old Timberlake sang at the Grand Old Opry, and the following year he could be seen on TV’s “Star Search.” His next adventure came as a member of “The All New Mickey Mouse Club.” As an adult, Timberlake’s singing talented soared in his first solo album “Justified.” And he’s been going strong in the music world ever since. Timberlake also decided to try his luck with film acting. The result? Acclaimed roles in such movies as The Social Network, In Time, Alpha Dog, and Trouble with the Curve. He’s also starring in two important upcoming movies this year: Runner Runner and Inside Llewyn Davis.

Timberlake, already a music megastar, is now poised to become an A-list movie star. Performances in his two new films might do the trick! Runner Runner -- a gambling thriller co-starring Ben Affleck -- opens on October 4th.  But fans will have to wait until December 6th for Inside Llewyn Davis, a screwball comedy from the Coen brothers.

Regarding his film career, Timberlake is quoted by IMDb in 2011 as saying, “I feel like a rookie in the movie business, that’s for sure. Maybe a little bit of an outsider, too, since I came to it from music.”

Now in 2013 -- with over 20 acting gigs on film and TV (including very amusing stints on “Saturday Night Live” -- this multi-talented entertainer should no longer feel like an outsider in the movie world.

Timberlake’s strong work ethic probably contributes to his success in music and films. In fact, Andrew Niccol, director of In Time, considers Timberlake’s work ethic as one of the important traits he shared with the lead character from that sci-fi thriller. “I don’t think Justin himself has taken a day off since he was 12 years old,” Niccol explains. “There is no reason he won’t be a successful action hero because he seems to be great at anything he turns his hand to.”

“Justin Timberlake: His Films and Music” airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
