Judy Reyes on 'Gun Hill Road'
by Betty Jo Tucker

On February 26th, Movie Addict HQ presents an interview with actress Judy Reyes, winner of two Alma Awards for TV’s Scrubs, Judy talks about her starring role in Gun Hill Road, a film to be released on DVD March 5th. She also discusses her exciting acting career, which has included roles in such movies and television shows as Bringing Out the Dead, It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas, Washington Heights, Without Men, Castle, The Sopranos, Law & Order and Oz. She’s even worked with Miss Piggy!

Proving her ability to do drama as well as comedy, Judy plays a role in Gun Hill Road that’s a far cry from her Scrubs character. This gritty and heart-wrenching film is filled with fearless performances by an impressive cast, including Judy, Esai Morales, and Harmony Santana, who reach deep within their souls to play the key roles of a Latino father, mother and their teenage youngster struggling to overcome estrangement, transgender issues, and environmental pressures. Judy displays her excellent dramatic chops here. Many viewers have enjoyed her so much in Scrubs and think of her primarily as a comedy actress, but she’s totally convincing as a long-suffering wife and mother in this intense family drama.

In addition to her film and TV career, Judy is a founding member of the Labyrinth Theatre Company, a multi-cultural acting space in the Bronx.

Listen to Judy Reyes on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a Chat. An archived segment will also be available.
