Harry Potter Party!
by Betty Jo Tucker

Muggles and Wizards alike are invited to a special HARRY POTTER PARTY at Movie Addict Headquarters on July 19.  Because this popular movie franchise reaches its conclusion with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, it’s time to look back and remember some of the highlights as well as to explore HP fantasies that have become reality. But what’s a party without games and goodies? That’s why Alex Benepe, CEO of The International Quidditch Association, and Dinah Bucholz, author of The Unofficial Harry Potter Sweet Shoppe Book, have been asked to join in the fun.

Bucholz, an avid Harry Potter fan, plans to tell everyone about some of the recipes in her follow-up book to the original Harry Potter Cookbook. If you’ve been wondering what the delicious-sounding foods Harry eats look and taste like, then Bucholz’s offerings are for you. Her first book contains recipes for every food mentioned in Harry Potter, from simple everyday foods like scrambled eggs to fancy desserts like treacle tart, and the Sweet Shoppe Book includes easy-to make directions for such delicacies as Broom Shaped Lollipop Sticks, Treacle Fudge, Peppermint Humbugs and Sugar Mice. Buchholz encourages people to “conjure up your own magical confections!”

If its HP action -- not food -- you’re after, Benepe promises to fill the bill with his explanation of how thousands of Muggles are playing Quidditch, which is even accepted as a sport at some colleges now, complete with “World Cup” events scheduled.

This HARRY POTTER PARTY airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, July 19. During the live show listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.
