Tony Luke Jr. Interview
by Betty Jo Tucker

Tony Luke Jr. drops by Movie Addict Headquarters on March 2nd to talk about his experience as star of The Nail, an inspirational independent film about a disgraced former boxer who finds redemption by helping an abused boy and his mother. The Nail earned the audience award for Best Film at the Philadelphia film festival and has aired on Showtime and The Movie Channel. It’s now available on DVD.

Tony is a successful restaurateur (known as the Philly Cheesesteak King) and former martial artist born and bred on the streets of Philadelphia. He graduated from the acclaimed Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. But the family business was always food. Tony Luke’s restaurant has been celebrated in nationwide magazines like Gourmet and GQ, as well as on countless TV shows. Pride in his hometown has now extended to film with the production of The Nail. Tony not only stars in this movie but also wrote the screenplay and the soundtrack music.

Publicist Lori De Waal reports that the twitter net “is buzzing about the striking resemblance between John Travolta in his latest picture From Paris With Love and Tony Luke Jr. in The Nail -- which in recent weeks was #2 Users Pick on the SHOWTIME Network.” When asked to comment on the apparent similarity, Tony says simply. “Well I know for sure I've been fat and bald for a while now. Don't know about Travolta.” No comment from John Travolta yet!

Not content to sit on his laurels, Tony is set to appear in two upcoming feature films: Our Lady of Victory with Carla Gugino and Ellen Burstyn and Mafioso II, which will shoot in Philadelphia and co-star Angie Everheart and David Proval. He’s also set to serve as the “Philly Chef” for the Food Network’s Guy Fieri national live stage show tour.

Tony Luke’s interview is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on BlogTalkRadio. During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a Chat. An archived segment will also be available.
