Cheer Up with Jamie Masada
by Betty Jo Tucker

Comic impresario Jamie Masada plans to visit the next Movie Addict Headquarters show to talk about The Laugh Factory as well as his film appearances in Rocket Man and Behind the Smile.  He will also discuss his timely Comedy Bail-Out Proposal, which he calls an “Economic Cheer-Up” plan.

For years, The Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard has been known as the Mecca of Comedy, where newcomers and veterans alike honor the gods of laughter, and where the unquestioned Caliph of Comedy is the club’s founder, Jamie Masada. Since he opened the club in the same building where Groucho Marx once kept his offices, Masada has made The Laugh Factory into the nation’s most famous comedy club. A partial list of the greats who have appeared at The Laugh Factory includes Adam Sandler, Jamie Foxx, Chris Tucker, Roseanne and Damon Wayans.

Masada also began “Comedy Camp” in 1984, which has helped over 800 underprivileged children in the Los Angeles area learn the ropes of stand-up with volunteer instructors like Ellen DeGeneres, the Wayans Brothers and Chris Rock. For his work with important programs like this, Masada received the NAACP Freedom Award in 2003, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2006.

This BlogTalkRadio show airs at 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern Time). During the live show, listeners are invited to call in and to participate in a Chat. The call-in number is 646-478-5668. An archived segment will also be available. It should be a fun show!
