Plan 9 from Syracuse
by Betty Jo Tucker

Filmmaker Ryan Dacko ran all the way from Syracuse, New York, to Hollywood, California, hoping to secure backing for his movie project from a mystery producer. Listen to Dacko discuss that daring journey and his unique documentary, Plan 9 from Syracuse, on the upcoming Movie Addict Headquarters show scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

Ryan Dacko is an independent filmmaker who gained critical success with his 2004 film And I Lived. However, still facing difficulty obtaining financial support for his next movie, Dacko decided a bold move was necessary “to get his foot firmly in the film industry door.”

Plan 9 from Syracuse chronicles Dacko’s adventures while running across the United States to achieve his goal. This film was named one of the top ten documentaries of the year by Film Threat Magazine. “Indie cinema doesn’t get much better than this,” says film critic Phil Hall.
