Bogie: The Man & His Movies
by Betty Jo Tucker

You must remember this: Humphrey Bogart in The Caine Mutiny, The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen, Sabrina, and many other terrific films, including almost everyone’s favorite, Casablanca.

Voted “the greatest movie star of all time” by Entertainment Weekly and ranked number one on The American Film Institute’s list of greatest American actors, Bogart died in 1957 but remains as popular as ever today. He earned three Academy Award nominations, winning the Best Actor Oscar for The African Queen in 1952.

Avid Bogart fan Jazz Shaw and film critic James Colt Harrison will drop by Movie Addict Headquarters on Tuesday, September 30, to help host Betty Jo Tucker and producer Nikki Starr pay tribute to Bogie and his remarkable career. Discussion will focus on the best Bogart films and performances as well as the reasons for his long-lasting popularity. The show airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

Shaw and Harrison are frequent guests on Movie Addict Headquarters. Shaw hosts Mid Stream Radio, another BlogTalkRadio show, and Harrison is a movie historian as well as the premier film critic for the La Jolla Village News.

What’s your favorite Humphrey Bogart film and performance? Call the show during the live broadcast or participate in the chat to share your opinions. We would love to hear from you!  The call-in number is 646-478-5668. An archived segment will also be available.
