MGM: The Glory Days
by Betty Jo Tucker

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, one of Hollywood’s powerful movie studios, created some of filmdom’s most memorable stars and produced a host of classic movies during the 1940s and 50s. On Tuesday, September 2, “Movie Addict Headquarters” will explore “The Glory Days of MGM” with the help of Susan Granger and James Colt Harrison. Both guests bring a wealth of information to the table about this subject.

Born into a film-business family and raised in Hollywood, Granger, whose father directed many MGM films during the period in question, appeared as a child actress in movies with Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, Abbott & Costello and Lassie. She’s a member of Broadcast Film Critics Association, Online Film Critics Association and New York Film Critics Online. Her articles have been published in numerous outlets including The New York Times, Playboy, Ladies Home Journal, Cinemag, Redbook, Family Circle, Casting and Cosmopolitan.

Harrison, a popular guest on “Movie Addict Headquarters,” is author of a history of MGM. He belongs to the San Diego Film Critics Association and serves as the premier film critic for the La Jolla Village News. He also writes film commentary for Rage Monthly, No Cover Music Magazine and San Diego Metro Weekly.

This BlogTalkRadio show airs at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. During the live show, listeners are invited to call-in and to participate in a chat. We would love to hear from you! The call-in number is 646-478-5668.
