ReelTalk Movie Reviews
Octavio Gomez Berrios & 'Harrison Montgomery'
by Betty Jo Tucker

In the darkest corners of reality, magic is possible. That’s the message of Harrison Montgomery, a provocative drama directed by Daniel Davila and featuring impressive performances by Octavio Gomez Berrios, Melora Walters, Krista Ott and Oscar winner Martin Landau.

I’m not a big fan of films about drug dealers or their deals gone wrong, but this one is an exception. Why?  Because it focuses on a very reluctant drug dealer, played with intensity and pathos by Gomez Berrios, who displays considerable star potential here. In fact, this talented young actor was named Breakthrough Actor of the Year by the 2008 Method Film Fest for his fine work in Harrison Montgomery.

Prior to Harrison Montgomery, Gomez Berrios appeared in Crash, Choking Man, Company Man, Famous, and Mambo Café as well as various TV shows like Law & Order, Carnivale, and Third Watch. His upcoming movies include Guerilla starring Benicio Del Toro and El Camino del Diablo with Paz Vega.

On Tuesday, July 29, Gomez Berrios will drop by Movie Addict Headquarters to talk with producer Nikki Starr and me about his key role in Harrison Montgomery. This BlogTalkRadio show airs at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, and listeners are invited to call in or to participate in a chat during the live broadcast.  The call-in number is 646-478-5668. An archived segment will also be available.
