Carole Whang Schutter and 'September Dawn'
by Betty Jo Tucker

Carole Whang Schutter, who wrote the screenplay for September Dawn as well as its follow-up historical romance novel, joins BlogTalkRadio host Betty Jo Tucker and producer Nikki Starr on “Movie Addict Headquarters” next Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

September Dawn, directed by Christopher Cain and starring Jon Voight, Trent Ford and Tamara Hope, played on the big screen last fall and was released on DVD earlier this month. To coincide with the DVD release, Schutter wrote a novel with the same title, which was published by Author House.

Both the film and the novel focus on a “Romeo and Juliet” type romance set against the events leading up to the Mountain Meadows Massacre in 1857, where 120 men, women, and children on a wagon train bound for California were slaughtered. It tells the unfolding love story of the son of a Mormon bishop and a pastor's daughter.

On the January 15th MAHQ show, Schutter will talk about how she became interested in writing September Dawn as well as her experiences working on the movie and the novel.
