Sally Field: Her Films & Performances
by Betty Jo Tucker

Noted film critics James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger visit Movie Addict Headquarters on July 12 to discuss the diverse film career of Sally Field. This talented actress has entertained her many fans for almost five decades. She earned two Best Actress Oscars – one for Norma Rae and another for Places in the Heart. She also received an Academy Award nomination for her work in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. Her resume includes eleven Golden Globe nominations, eight Emmy nominations and seven Screen Actors Guild nominations. Field’s recent performance in Hello, My Name Is Doris has won widespread acclaim from both fans and critics. Will Field win another Oscar for her latest movie role?

Field has played opposite A-list leads like Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, Kevin Kline, James Garner, Burt Reynolds and Robin Williams. She can do both comedy and drama equally well. Her list of movies includes such varied films as Soapdish, Murphy’s Romance, Smokey and the Bandit, Mrs. Doubtfire, Punchline, The End, Steel Magnolias, Norma Rae, Places in the Heart, Forrest Gump, Kiss Me Goodbye. And we can’t forget to mention Field’s earlier television series The Flying Nun and Gidget.

Yes, indeed, the Movie Addict HQ gang likes Sally Field. Really!

Critics Harrison and Saenger are frequent guests on Movie Addict HQ. Saenger founded and operates Classic Movie Guide as well as Review Express. Harrison, a film historian, contributes reviews to both sites and posts in-depth previews/reviews on his Facebook page. These two popular guests are also founding members of the San Diego Film Critics Society.
